What to expect going to the dermatologist

I have a lot of experience in this area. I had severe acne for 4 yrs (thank goodness not anymore) & have been to 3 dermatologists.

On the first appointment, u meet the dr. & he/she assesses ur problem. They will ask u history, what medications u r taking, & how u r trying to treat the problem u have. If u r going for acne, for example, they will ask u what u r using to treat it.

They may also ask u what u feel the issue is & what ur expectations are. Then u will get a prescription & they will tell u to come back in 2-4 weeks (depending on the issue). Just make sure that the doctor is acutually treating u & not just making u come back over & over just so they can make money off you. (switch doctors if that is the case)

You may have to go to the derm for a few months to really start seeing results.
