i've had mild acne for a long time now
and it is now going away
only because i've stopped using any product
including soap
wash your face with (warm) water only [during your shower, etc]
constantly
it is the best way to get rid of acne
other products usually just make things worse
use water
and water only
and it will improve in 2-4 weeks
=)
I always felt like they were experimenting on me, like let is try this, OK, now let is try this! They seemed to love prescribing antibiotics, which I think is a terrible way to treat acne, because it makes the bacteria stronger. I have great, smooth skin now, but only because I took control, started being gentler to my skin, & learned how to treat it myself. Try this:
Do not touch ur face. You'd be surprised how much ur skin can improve just by doing something so simple.
The over-the-counter stuff worked way better for me than any antibiotics or expensive acne treatments. There r three steps:
1. Cleanse with a non-soap cleanser like Cetaphil or Purpose.
2. Apply a product with 1% or 2% salicylic acid to get rid of dead skin & oil buildup that can clog pores. A good & cheap one (around $10) is Neutrogena Rapid Clear. It says on the bottle that u will see results in 8 hours, & it is true!
3. Now that you've got the salicylic acid working to unclog ur pores, u need to apply a product that will kill the bacteria that is helping to cause pimples. A good one is the weakest concentration of benzoyl peroxide, because u need to be gentle to ur skin. Neutrogena makes an acne spot treatment with 2.5% benzoyl peroxide. You can use it sparingly all over ur face.
Start out doing this once a day. It can be ur nighttime routine or something. See how ur skin takes to it. Depending on how well it works, u can either do every other day or go up to twice a day.
I have been & had microdermabrasion done & it showed good results. You might not be able to tell a hell of a lot yourself simply because u look & in the mirror everyday u might not notice too much of a change, however, for someone who doesnt notice ur acne everyday it will be noticeable. Even my mother noticed a difference. It also depends on the amount of acne u have & it does cost a bit. I had 5-6 sessions every 2 weeks or so which cost around $100 each from what i remember. The also prescribe an antibiotic tablet which u take & a skin cleansing cream which u use morning & night as well as glycolic acid cream. All these things together really make a difference. It might not make ur skin perfect but u would understand that when u have skin problems u will take whatever help u can get. I too had mild acne & once ur done with the dermabrasion all u need to do it continue with the cleansing at home to keep ur skin clean & as long as u done touch ur face it will stay clean & u notice that u dont get pimples anymore.
Me. They gave me Benzaclin and pills. Worked out fine.
not me. Try birthcontrol...that is if you are a girl. hormone imbalance can be one of the main causes of acne. you cant cure it, only treat it.
